2013 Leadership Training Conference

2013 Leadership Training Conference
Location: St. Louis, MO
Date: February 28 – March 3, 2013

The LTC provides ASME’s volunteers with leadership training, essential information for key unit and committee members and networking opportunities with peers.  The 2013 LTC will be focused on the needs of volunteer leaders in the Knowledge & Community Sector, including sections in Districts A-F only (North America and Mexico).   For ASME sections in Districts G-J, training will be provided through other venues and means, and funding will not be provided for attendance at LTC.

Who Should Attend:

  • Incoming or potential Executive Committee officers (unit leaders), including sections in Districts A-F    
  • Unit leaders who have never attended an LTC
  • Experienced ASME volunteers who have served as members of an Executive Committee or Operating Board seeking more advanced training, and have NOT previously attended more than one previous Leadership Training Conference
  • Early Career Engineers that have demonstrated a willingness to serve in support of ASME operations or initiatives. 

LTC Will Provide You:

  • Leadership (including communication and project management) skills training to help you succeed in your volunteer position and professional work
  • An overview of the Society’s organization and key initiatives and resources
  • An opportunity to share ideas and best practices with your peers 
  • Networking opportunities with other volunteer leaders and ASME staff

A Call to Unity in Service – Knowledge and Community Focus:

  • Meeting customer needs – showing relevance, marketing (including identification and response to technical needs)
  • Improving operating processes – strategic and succession planning
  • Encouraging initiatives
